the building & setting of castle is magnificent rooms are tastefully decorated to fit in with setting a perfect setting for that special occasion
menu could have been much better, not a lot of choice, food lacked taste unfortunately.
Lovely staff in the restaurant for dinner
We feel that a lot of the Paradors need better signposting
A historic Parador. The usual good service at a Parador and a good location.
In general Paradors need to update the room facilities a little. In our experience the beds are often hard. However, updating has to be balanced with the history of most Paradors.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Set high above the river below. Must see the hidden garden here and walk around the ramparts to loom over the local countryside and see the stork nests! Charming parador and very comfortable.
The evening meal was expensive and not particularly good, which is a shame as they were advertising a new menu with local food so we gave it a try. Go out for dinner.
Good location for our journey with a pleasant atmosphere
The directional signs where poor and it took us a long time to find the entrance
I visited Ciudad Rodrigo for the 200th Anniversary of the storming of the border fortress town during the Napoleonic War. I had previously stayed at the Parador in Oropesa and enjoyed the experience. The staff and facilities provided at Ciudad Rodrigo were excellent, there is no other word to describe it, they really made me feel welcome and added greatly to the enjoyment of the visit. I most certainly will return.
Atmospheric. Stunning views from the keep and garden. Regional specialities for breakfast. Cheerful and helpful staff.
A few more signs to the hotel would be helpful from the main road.
It's a real gem in a charming town. The staff were very friendly & welcomed my dogs in certain areas. They were very helpful about local restaurants.
The hotel is located in a wonderful renovated castle. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was were nicely decorated in a medievall style. Food at the restaurant waqs execellent.
No swimming pool
Wonderful historic building very cleverly adapted to a hotel. Very enthusiastic staff, magnificent views, great location close to the main square, oh and the rooms were great!
The views and location are stunning. The atmosphere and feel of the hotel are excellent. Good beds.
A beautiful hotel, situated within the old city walls with magnificent views of the countryside. Very comfortable hotel and good services.
Better signage and directions once you reach the city.
A very picturesque location in the old walled hilltop city of Ciudad Rodrigo and a delightful Parador experience in a renovated castle tower. The public spaces in particular were charming, spatious and relaxing all comfortably furnished in an understated style. A relaxing and classy hotel for a two day trip to historic Ciudad Rodrigo.
My rather unrealistic expectation was that there would have been a gym of some sort. Also minor point but I was also caught out by arriving late afternoon and not being able to get anything to eat until 8:30 pm.
Just what you expect of a Paraodor. In a very grand old castle/palace and very convenient for exploring the old town of Ciudad Rodrigo. Very good and easy parking within the grounds. Good food in the restaurant but the atmosphere was quite churclike as there were few clients.
Our room had a little balcony with 2 chairs which was a bonus otherwise the room needed another comfoftable chair.
What a setting for a romantic gambol!
What is there not to like?
